American cannabis or Mexican cannabis, will the real cannabis please stand up? Seriously, do you know which is which?[more…] Well, neither do we, however, we are told there is a distinct difference and it is all started on how it is raised. As an example many drug cartels will hire runners to do their dirty work. Meaning they will hire migrant workers who are basically insolvent or poor people who really just need a job. The migrant worker will clear out a swatch of land and dig what are called “corn rows” in effort to raise cannabis. This is the favorite way the Mexican farmer plants his/her garden, you might call it the old fashion traditional way. The soil may be rich or it may have a lack of nutrients. The migrant worker will undoubtedly use a mix of chemicals which mostly are miracle grow type fertilizers in effort to get the cannabis to spring up quickly. There is not much wrong with using fertilizers but it truly depends on what type you are using, especially with cannabis. Now then, here is the part that is scary. Water is normally, the problem as the plants must have a certain amount of water daily…they should not be deprived. A lot of times the cannabis is over fertilized and this causes the plant to duplicate in mass but also calls for a different level of potency and it will certainly attract bug mites. The mites will eat at the leaves and normally the migrant worker will harvest it regardless. This means the bug mites will be in your cannabis dead. Sounds kind of sick to me, but I truly think the lack of education is the problem here. Of course, I am merely generalizing as I am sure there are migrant workers out there growing cannabis whom are much more intelligent than I.
Moving on, the American cannabis grower is a bit different. Most will not clear a patch of land to plant the seeds in. Instead they will use pots for outdoor grows in which they can control and cultivate the plants in a better environment. An irrigation system is normally set in motion where the cannabis receives regular doses of water to ensure its over all growth level. Americans appear to be more health conscious when it comes to grooming and taking care of cannabis. Really not sure why, however, I think it is mostly because they are probably the owners of the grow vs. the migrant workers are merely working for the cartels. Haven’t seen many Americans toting firearms to protect their crops but just about every outdoor grown by the cartels seem to have heavily armed people guarding the stash. Americans seem to be more methodical grower and seem to plan out not only their garden but what they are going to do to marker their product once harvest time comes. I say this because, the migrant workers only wants to be paid in the end and they have no idea where the cannabis goes or to whom. American growers on the other hand seem to see things to the end of the line. Americans seem to foster growing cannabis as an honest living. The migrant worker does it for present day survival.
Not sure where I am going with this, but it certainly is not a race thing. I basically am looking at some of the differences here and if there is one thing I am interested in that is education. When it comes to growing cannabis there are many different ways of doing so and by many different types of people as well. Staying focused here the Mexicans are selling underground marijuana to American medical marijuana dispensaries since they give such a good deal. So then, if this is the case, what about the American grower? The American grower cannot compete when it comes right down to it, or can they? Perhaps, but if we look at the bottom line here and that is what is the quality of the cannabis like after the grow? This should be important to everyone down the line. I write on these issues as they come up daily and we need to take a look what the other guy is doing so we all stay safe. Here is a quick bit of what I think. I think you can poke a hole in the dirt in your back yard, place a cannabis seed in the hole and feed it some water. Yes, water only! Several days may go by and whoop…whoop! There you have it a baby seedling and once it starts to grow you can continue to give it water, no need to give it fertilizers, just give it water. You see my friends, why give something natural any fertilizers? There is really no need, just give it water and it will grow. We keep listening to people who have no idea what the heck they are talking about most of the time….we need to get back to the basics as Americans….we can grow our own gardens with tomatoes, carrots, radish, squash….but do we need to put fertlyizers with chemicals on our food. The FOOD we EAT? You tell me my friends….would you?
